Moth – What is a moth?

Definition of a moth

The moth larva looks like a small, shiny white worm. The adult moth, in the form of a butterfly, has a golden beige head and fore wings, without spots, and measures approximately 12 mm. Only the larva causes damage, attacking fabrics and furs. The eggs, covered with gelatinous matter, are deposited among the mesh of the tissues, which keeps them in place. Hatching takes place within four to ten days after laying. Once an adult, the moth has an average life expectancy of 15 to 30 days.
